The new Bulk Water Station has been designed for quicker delivery of water and ease of access for all vehicles. It is located on the West Bypass Road (map) with six bays for large trucks and one for small vehicles.

There are 4 bays for top load trucks with over 4 meters of clearance, plus 2 bays with hose outlets at the 1.2m height for other vehicles.

All six of these bays have 3” (75mm) male cam-lock outlets. Trucks are required to have a 3” (75mm) female cam-lock fitting plus adequate hose attached to reach their tank.

Once connected to the outlet the driver will then activate the system simply by placing the key fob against the target spot on the kiosk for that bay. To start the flow of water the driver then pushes and holds the up arrow on the hanging pendant switch until the desired flow rate is achieved.

Throughout delivery the flow rate can be adjusted. To stop the flow of water the driver simply pushes the down button on the switch until the water stops. This gives the operators full control over the rate at which water is delivered, from full flow right down to no flow.

This should virtually eliminate spillage and wasting of water. The pendants have enough cable attached that they can be operated from ground level or on top of the trucks.

When no flow has occurred for 30 seconds the transaction will be complete and the system will have to be reactivated for further use.

The facility also has an outlet for smaller vehicles and tanks, or for the occasional user. This has a 2” (50mm) outlet with a male cam-lock fitting. The user will have to have a 2” (50mm) female cam-lock fitting with enough hose attached to reach their tank.

Once connected, the user then inserts their smart card into the card reader and presses the start button on the control panel to activate the system. Then, similar to the bulk water system, the user starts the flow of water by pushing and holding the up arrow on the hanging pendant switch until the desired flow rate is achieved.

Throughout delivery the flow rate can be adjusted by pushing the appropriate button on the pendant switch. To stop the flow of water the user simply pushes the down button on the switch until the water stops. This gives the users full control over the rate at which water is delivered, from full flow right down to no flow. This should virtually eliminate spillage and wasting of water.

Once the desired amount of water has been dispensed the user then pushes the stop button on the control panel and removes the card. The appropriate number of credits will have been deducted off of the smart card. When the user wants to purchase more credits they can do this at City Hall.
