Get Active...Stay Active

 

Come try awesome activities like Kick Boxing, Pilates, Step, Dance and Hip Hop! For girls 13-16yrs.

 

The Program:

 

• The Girls Exercise is an 8 week supervised exercise opportunity for an individual looking for a healthy lifestyle.

 

• The exercise program will run 2 times per week and each week a new activity will
be introduced to the group.

 

• The program will focus on providing circuit training sessions and also introduce
alternatives for physical activities such as Kick Boxing, Pilates, Step, Dance and Hip Hop.

 

Is This Program for Me?

 

This program may be right for you if:

 

•You are 13-16 years of age


• You are interested in learning about exercise and making healthy lifestyle choices.

 

Participating in a regular exercise program:


• Helps youth meet new friends


• Builds strong bones and strengthens muscles


• Helps to gain & maintain flexibility


• Achieves a healthy weight


• Promotes good posture and balance


• Strengthens the heart


• Improves physical self-esteem


• Increases relaxation

In addition to the benefits above, maintaining an active lifestyle will help to protect you from chronic health conditions.

 

Physical Activity Is Fun!

 

Everyone, no matter their age, height, weight, natural abilities or skills, needs to learn that physical activity is fun and it does not have to be competitive.

 

• Participation in physical activity is encouraged; sports are not the only way to stay
active.

 

• Participation in regular physical activity improves health. It strengthens cardiovascular function, reduces the risk of developing Type II Diabetes, hypertension and positively influences choices pertaining to nutrition.
