The Professional Competition was very successful with eight international teams:
First Place Realistic: Tombo by Takashi Ito and Junichi Nakamura ( Japan ) NICA Score 93.2
Second Place Realistic: Musical Ride by Alexey Shchitov ( Russia ) NICA Score 79.8
Third Place Realistic: Sasquatch by Tom Pitt ( Winnipeg , Canada ) NICA Score 71.8
First Place Abstract: Freewill by Dean Murray and Chan Kitburi ( Washington USA ) NICA Score 82.3
Second Place Abstract: Northern Wind by Keijiro Miyata ( Washington USA ) NICA Score 81.6
Third Place Abstract: Zephyr’s Destination by Ilya Filimontsev (Russia) NICA Score 80
Fourth Place Abstract: Wolf Howling at the Moon by Larry MacFarlane( Winnipeg , Canada )
Fifth Place Abstract: Northern Travel by Peter Vogelaar (Winlaw, BC, Canada) and Jesse Forrester (Fort St. John, BC, Canada)
Single Block Competition: One block, one carver, two hours
First Place: Peter Vogelaar
Second Place: Keijiro Miyata
Third Place: Ilya Filimontsev
The Intermediate Competition was also judged by the NICA judges but with less stringent criteria.
First Place : Northern Impact by Dave Diehl and Randy Jordan
Second Place : by Sonja and Myles Butts and Julie Foster
Third Place : All The Way to the North by Suzon Anne Tremblay, Laurie Petrucci and Aleisha Hendry
The Beginners had an Honourable Mention of the RCMP Bison by Keith and Brad Redl and thanks to Urban Systems for all their support.
The Mayor’s Challenge featured the 150 Anniversary of British Columbia .
